*President / Founder.* With over 40 years of experience in the earthmoving and blasting industries, Jim has worked on mining, construction and demolition projects since 1978. His work has carried him to 12 different states over the years and into many classrooms as an instructor of blasting recertification in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He is a member of the International, Keystone and Potomac chapters of the International Society of Explosive Engineers as well as serving as president of the Central Pennsylvania Association of Paving & Excavating Contractors.
Founder and President
Jim Shuster is the president and founder of Newville Construction Services, Inc., Newville Electric Services Inc. and Eleven Oaks Farms LLC. He has over 36 years of experience in the earthmoving and blasting industries. He has worked on mining, construction and demolition projects since 1978 and his work has carried him to 12 different states. Jim is an instructor of blasting recertification in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He is a member of the International, Keystone and Potomac chapters of the International Society of Explosive Engineers as well as serving as president of the Central Pennsylvania Association of Paving & Excavating Contractors.
Jim has been involved in electrical line civil construction since 2009. Jim formed Newville Electrical Services to cater to the needs of overhead electrical line contractors for distribution, transmission and substation projects.
Jim is involved in NCS projects at all levels (bid, construction and billing) to ensure the safety and quality of work is maintained true to his and Newville Construction Service’s reputation.
Operations Manager
Marks 19 plus years of experience in Right of Way (ROW) Access, mass grading, road construction, pipe installation, and various civil construction projects have proven influential to Newville Construction Services where he has been since 2014. Having grew up in his family’s excavating and trucking business, Mark also brings a vast knowledge not only in operating heavy equipment but the ability to repair and maintenance directly, on-site as needed, reducing any protentional delays in construction. His pride in ensuring projects maintain safety, scheduling, efficiency, and his ability to address any issues that may arise with ease, all while valuing the teamwork of his crews and the relationships with clients speaks volumes about his reputation and work ethic making him the ideal Operation Manager for the NCS Team.
Estimator & Equipment Manager
Tom is an accomplished, results oriented Construction Manager with 36 years of diversified experience directing large scale projects in High Voltage Electrical Transmission, Power Plant, Civil and Commercial Construction. Specialized in the installation of large diameter deep foundation drilled shafts, inland and marine, soldier beam walls, driven piles, sheet piling, temporary and permanent shoring. Small diameter drilling and specialty geotechnical work, such as tiebacks, micro piles and soil nail walls. Adept in the management of $75+ million projects that are delivered safely, within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
Site Supervisor
With 30 years of experience in substation construction, ground-wells, grounding, piping, Right of Way Access and excavation and grading, Dave has a multi-talented level of construction knowledge. He has managed crews on several large-scale projects and is diligent in ensuring that the safety and efficiency of his crew gets the project completed on time and within budget.
Site Supervisor
Jons’ 25-year experience began in Bridge and Heavy Highway Excavation and underground trenching, prior to transitioning his career into Right of Way Access and restoration. Jon offers an array of valuable skills; his ability to understand and read prints, oversee projects and lead crews, ensure all safety, regulatory and compliances are followed while maintaining the expected project budgets and completion dates. Jon is an influential part of the Newville Construction Services team.
Site Supervisor
Dan dedicates himself as an honest and dependable employee who tackles any job and its challenges with determination and a strong work ethic. He works right along with his crew, never asking them to take on anything he, himself, wouldn’t. Dan takes great pride in not only his crew, himself and their work but in their efficiency to get the job completed. Having 18 years’ experience in the construction industry Dan’s talents include mass excavation and grading, pipe installation, road building, Right of Way Access, equipment operating and he holds a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. He has been with Newville Construction Services since 2016 where Dan has supervised various large-scale projects.
Dan began his career on a dairy farm which is what gave him the skill sets to become successful within the construction industry and a vital team member to Newville Construction Services.
DOT
Angie has been a dedicated employee of Newville Construction for 2 years where she ensures that all of the equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and comply with FMCSA and DOT safety standards and regulations. Prior to joining Newville Construction Services Angie was a licensed Medical Assistant. Her caring nature, be it with her four grandchildren or her horses, has proven to be a valuable asset in her role with Newville Construction.
Billing & Contract Administration
Amiee has been a hard-working and dedicated employee of Newville Construction Services since 2013 where she handles an array of responsibilities from Accounts Receivable and Payable to Contract Management. Prior to joining Newville Construction Services Amiee worked for the GSA, General Services Administration, as a Financial Analyst for the OCFO, Office of Chief Financial Officer. Her abilities and knowledge have been instrumental to ensuring the administrative success of the team.
Director of Bidding & Contracts
Mallie is a 2012 graduate of Kent State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. His undergraduate coursework included classes in business and entrepreneurship as well as a minor in advertising. He was a 3-year letterman on the KSU men’s wrestling team, a 2012 NCAA Division I National Tournament qualifier, and a team representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Mallie is also currently enrolled in the Shippensburg University MBA program and is on track to graduate in the fall of 2020. His MBA coursework covers topics that include organizational behavior and leadership, economics and financial management, information systems, supply chain management, and marketing.
Mallie has worked in the construction industry his entire life. He began as an equipment operator and blaster before becoming a small crew and shop foreman. In 2014 he became an assistant site superintendent, handling many daily interactions with customers and communicating complete and accurate information to the accounting department. As the Director of Bidding and Contracts, Mallie’s philosophy is focused on pricing work in a way that provides value to the customer while allowing field superintendents to realize healthy profits, customer satisfaction, and safety when performing the work as bid. Mallie believes that exceeding customer expectations of value and quality while working safely should be a high-priority goal of our organization. In order to achieve that, all jobs must start with a complete accounting of the entire scope of work and a contract that is in the best interest of all parties.
